So, it's been over a year since I've posted anything on this blog. Sorry about that! Life has been very good to us in that time. Daniel still loves his job as a behavioral optometrist. He's really making a difference in the quality of life for many people with their vision therapy program and different prescribing philosophy.
Seth, who is now 5 1/2 is growing so fast. He starts Kindergarten in August and I have mixed feelings about that. He is so ready, though, and I'm really excited about the school we chose for him. It's a Leader In Me school (leaderinme.org) that focuses it's curriculum around Stephen R Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Successful People. It's a charter school that does say the pledge daily and teaches from the source on many things, not from someone's interpretation, especially in history. And the children who go through the entire program have the opportunity of graduating with an associates degree if we pay for the credits in high school.
Talmage, my 3 1/2 year old still gives me a run for my money and is smart as a whip! He's still my cuddle bug and snuggles every chance he gets. He already knows his numbers and letters, colors and shapes, and anything else Seth cares to teach him.
Emmalyn continues to be my sweet little girl. I LOVE having a girl. She makes me laugh constantly. And she's pretty darn smart, too. Just the other day, she was blowing bubbles in her milk at dinnertime and Daniel said her name in a stern voice. She immediately looked up (cup still to her lips) and said in her sweetest voice "bubble?" Stinker gets away with more than she should with tricks like that.
We LOVE our house and are finally feeling settled in. November will be 2 years which is longer than we've lived anywhere since Oregon during school. It feels good! The house is large enough that we have the privilege of having my mom move in with us the end of July. I'm so excited as for most of my adult life I've lived a state or two away from her and she hasn't had the privilege of watching my kids grow day by day.
As for me? Well, I'm happy! I'm blessed! I have an incredible husband who does WAY more than the normal husband does and he is patient with all of my not so loving traits. He's a wonderful Daddy, too. I've been juggling my time trying to keep the house clean, play with my children, and get my little SendOutCards business off the ground. Some days it's pretty tough and I really struggle, but then a child does something silly or my husband does something sweet and I remember how blessed I really am!
