You did it! This is great, I really like how it looks on here. I did have to sign in because of your privacy setting. It wasn't a problem. The other link worked too. Way to go!
To add side links, go to customize then "add a page element" then choose "link list" and that will do it. You type in the addresses and what you want the titles to be. That's how I did "my friends blogs" on my page. I think that's what you're asking about. Good luck!
